Default What is best solution for improving night vision with halogens or foglights

I have an EG hatch with JDM-style headlamps. No idea where they were purchased from, were on the car when I got them. Lense is crystal clear but I'm guessing if its not OEM the pattern is never quite as good.

Anyway, I put Sylvania Xtra-vision bulbs in there. Should be better than the OEM/GE bulbs but the output is still not that good. My sister has an EK civic with OEM lens and OEM bulbs and hers, while still crappy in general, are brighter than mine. I don't think changing my bulb will make a difference, no matter how I adjust, its not putting much light on the road. Like its badly focused or something.

What are some inexpensive solutions to improve lighting? I was thinking of getting OEM foghlights (clear not yellow lens) and putting some Xtravisions in those as well. Will that put more light on the road? Or are there other housings I can get for the headlamp that focus the light better?

Retrofitting HID is not an option for me. A bit too expensive although I know that it is optimal.... I need to just know the best solution to maximize light output with halogens, and the addition of fog lights is something I am willing to do, or if there are better housings.

Sorry for being so longwinded. Please help.

sup man, I'm from Southaven. I'm guessing you're on MRS?

Anyway, what sort of Sylvania bulbs did you put in there? JDM Civic headlights take H4H bulbs, which are generally not available in the US unless someone imports them from overseas.

Driving lights are going to be your best bet for getting additional light on the road.

oops n/m I see they are just some aftermarket clear lens headlights. Most likely the reflector is poorly designed. If you switched back to USDM OEM headlights, those Xtra-vision bulbs will probably perform alot better.
