Default A strange problem. Cutting out.

Yeah my car has something else wrong with it now hahaha.

After the car has been started up and driving for a little while, and the oil temp goes to 1/4 heat on the guage (I dont know what it is in degrees) if I stop the car will die after idling like 2 seconds. Then if I turn the key just to "start" it will sputter then free crank as if the fuel pump died. if I turn the key off and then restart it starts right up and doesn't do it again. Only happens when oil temp is 1/4.

???

bump. realized the BRAKE light indicated low brake fluid. So I filled that up. Light went off. Brakes work good. Is there an engine cut off or something when brake fluid is low?

not that i'm aware of. i've had my fluid low before and the light would come on and off. but it didnt affect how the engine ran in anyway. And thats coolant temp btw, not oil temp.

it sounds to me like your ignition switch is bad. Before you spend the $80 to replace it though, you should test all the circuits according to the helms manual to verify it is bad.

for what it is worth, you can also pop open the switch very carefully and clean the contacts, and it might be good to go again for a little while.

lol I got a temporary fix. I just shift later so the car warms up before I have to stop haha. Worked today. We'll see about tomorrow. I think I'm going to invest in a professional to just inspect the entire friggin car.
