Default what dose a p28 ecu check for before engine start? cel on before car is started

i have cel light on some times before the engine is started and stays on. i can drive fine for hours with no cel but when i shut it off and go to restart (i let it sit in the on postion and what for the cel to go out before i atempt to start) the car after 15min the cel is on and dose not clear some times. it will go off on its own when it feels like it but why is it doing this. probe the connecter and solid cel no flashes.

Do you hear the main relay click and the fuel pump prime when this happens?

Also check the main capacitor near the middle ecu plug.

Do you also have Hondata. If so it is probably the wire between the ecu and blue box.I have junked a few of those wires, usually the wire pulls out of the connector.

a cold solder joint is a solder that doesnt penetrate the two surfaces well, and therefore doesnt make a good electrical connection

it will work sometimes, and not work at other times.

cold solder joints become a biG problem when vibration is introduced

you know how ppl are telling you to check your main relay? guess why.... because the solder joints are crappy from the factory and rattle loose, causing intermittent startup issues.

i was assuming it was a DIY solder job... i would hope hondata would be doing QA checks...

look into what the guy said about the wire pulling out.
