Wings West Door Cap question
Hello.
I put my wings west door caps on my CRX about 3 months ago. I have not noticed that the double sided tape is not holding to well. I want to screw them in.
My questions is, where do I put the screws? I took off the interior door panel. but I can't seem to find any spots to screw into the door caps. Can anybody help me?
Thanks!~

Im in the same position, i just bought my car with the wings west kit on it though.
I thinking of using a self tapping screw and screw in from the outside. Then use body filler to cover up the screw head. Any one have any better ideas?
There is a on my front bumper where it bows up, im thinking of screwing it down too. I tried heating it up with a hair dryer and kind of melting it down, but that wont work.

LOL. Ya melting it down will not work. This dude from the appearance forum said to buy some 3m plastic and emblem glue, and use gobs of it on where the tape is.
You have to take off the door caps, remove the tape, clean the door, then use the glue very generously. Sounds like a good idea to me! I dont really want to screw them in.

Just use the double sided tape. It works great and I've never had a problem. You just have to do it right. Remember to clean the area good with some type of alcohol, then put some adhesive promotor. Let it dry and then slap on the door cap. It grip's like a SOB after that.
I dont really want to screw my bumper on, cause what if one day i want to take it off to put in a intercooler? lol. I dont really mind screwing my door caps on though.
I know there are like millions (exagerating) of 88-91 civic/crx's with the wings west kit. I bet wings west is rich as crap.

Well you could always have them molded on. I'm sure they won't come off then. Or you could do like WW say's and just get some small screws and do if from the inside. You just have to find a way to get the screws on the middle section.

U know what i did with mine.. I put Urathane Glass glue on it with the double sided tape and slapped it on.. it works really good..i have it on my brothers 88 hatch (first car) 3 years and its still on there tite.. now i got my red hatch and did the same. it sticks on with no prob.. I recommend of you you use it.. its good.. U can go to those windshield replacement shops and buy a tube and use it on the whole kit.. its about $20.. should be in black.. same glue they use to keep ur windshield on ur car.. good luck guys.. also You can rivit it to ur car.. but i dont think its neccessary cuz this glue would be cheaper adn less time put onto the car.
