I posted before about my tach problem and temp guage problem. I know the distributer needs to be replaced and i havent had a chance to check the temp guage yet to see if its a loose wire. But last night has just put the iceing on the cake. As im driving home last night my tach just stops working. Then i notice that my guage cluster lights and my stereo lights are getting dimmer, then my headlamps start getting dimmer, then the stereo goes out, and finally the car just stalls and i coast until im about 4 blocks from my house. All i have to say is im really pissed off right now, i cant believe all this crap is happening at once, especially when i have to pay for my tuition and books within the next 3 weeks. I'm guessing that now my alternater is probably gone and i have to replace that too. Do you guys think that is the problem? If it is, do i just get a alternator for a b16a2 from the del sols or the civic Si's? Sorry about the semi long post, i just need to rant about this, im sure most of you guys understand. Thanks!

 

sounds like your alternator to me...as far as replacement, im not too sure...

TTT...cause alternators suck... when they are broken...

 

You can use any obd-0 or obd-1 b-series alternator. I used a 94 GSR alternator because they put out more amperage (90) than do the 91 LS (65).

Are you sure that the alternator is out? I had the exact thing happen to me. I looked at the alternator and the wire thats held together by a bolt was loose. I took the bolt off and cleaned the terminals, and then just bolted it back on. Hasn't happened again since. Just making sure you actually confirmed that the alternator was bad and not just assumed.
