What is involved in swapping the power steering out of my 95 del sol si to manual? Do I just need a manual rack? Has anyone done this?

 

All you need is the manual rack. It will bolt right up.

How much does the manual rack weigh?

 

Just get a manual rack (CX or VX). you just have to get creative with the right bracket because the manual rack is thinner (I used two bushings, temporarily). It's gotta weigh 30lbs less with the pump and lines, etc.

 

I have a manual rack with the crossmember and bracket with the bolts. Everything that is needed. It's out of my '94 cx, so I'm 90% sure it will fit (anyone verify?). I'm selling it and should have pics up soon. I changed to power steering when I did my swap. I'm not sure how much to ask, but if you are interested let me know.

 

Just wind it up to 120 and turn the key off and you should lose power... you can do that in my current **** *** Ford Tempo
