I just find my self not ever waving to them. Like they are not (to use the term) "in the know".

At least in my city they are slow, don't use the road properly and usually ride more unsafe then anything on two wheels.

 

I almost waved to one today...then I got closer and saw it was a huge *** scooter.

Do scooters/mopeds wave to other scooters/mopeds?

 

If they wave, I'll wave back but I won't initiate the wave to one.

Then again, I haven't seen a scooter yet on the roads I've been on so far.

 

Why wave at anyone? Do you wave to other car drivers when you cage? focus on the riding, not the styling.

 

Its about the community, about the acknowledgement of other enthusiasts enjoying the world on two wheels..not about being a stunna or whatever you do squidding in jeans in a full tuck.

 

When I first got my scoot last year I waved to every bike I saw. Most riders didn't wave back so I stopped. Two days ago, I waved at a pack of bikes when I was on the Zuma, mostly out of habit, and they literally laughed at me. Haha. Now I usually only wave to scoots when I'm on my scoot and everyone when I'm on my bike.

 

i used to rarely wave to anyone because theres squids everywhere, and i hate them . but whenever i would see people in gear i would at least give them the nod

 

whenever i leave jersey ill get waves, even harley riders

everyone seems to be pretty cool in pa and de.

 

I don't really wave to scooters. The surprising thing is that more people on Harleys and cruisers in general tend to wave more than other people on sport bikes. Instead the stunna's just shoot you a hard look through their sun/safety glasses.

 

I think there are two type of scooter riders. The ones who are riding the scooter as a step down from a motorcycle, just to cruise around, and those who do it purely for economic reasons. The ones familiar with the motorcycle community usually enjoy the wave and the 'community' feeling that comes attached to it. Some people have a ego thing attached to them. I think anyone on two wheels is a part of my community.

 

i say what's up to scooters, cruisers, squids, stunnas etc... i don't necessarily go outta my way to look for every biker to throw my hand out.. it randomly just happens naturally.. doesn't have anything to do with styling or not paying attention. if anything that just means your focused and aware of your surroundings.. people just do it, if you do or don't no big deal.

 

I only wave if it's a cute girl. Other than that, I don't wave to anyone but other triumph owners.

No...I don't think they would quite understand the same if a guy in an Evo waved to a bunch of s2k's.

But I do wave to every other fellow evo owner as a show of brotherhood so to speak. We share the same interests...why wouldn't we wave and be friendly?

I usually just wave to sportbikes, unless I'm waved to first. Nobody else waves back. Haha.

 

I don't 'wave' so much as stick my hand out. I don't do thsi to scooters because msot of those people simply got them to save gas. They didn't need to get a license, they don't get a rush from accelerating out of a corner (maybe some do, who knows lol). I don't consider a scooter or moped a 'motorcycle.' I do aknowledge all motorcycles, Harleys, sportbikes, etc.

 

I just look at them and think to myself.....[pejorative]s. Then I realize, they are probably getting a lot better gas mileage than me, to which I change my thought to...smart [pejorative].

LOL, the S90 I commute on gets better mileage than most scooters, and is much faster, and looks a lot better. I've also seen some decent looking girls riding scooters around campus.

ya but for the majority they get better gas mileage. I really dont care, I love my Ninja!

I had a guy on a harley wave at me in traffic and almost rearended a pickup.

 

Sometimes im too concentrated and keep both hands on the bars. And if someone out of the corner of my eye waves i feel obligated to wave back as to not seem rude. There's really no problem with it, i don't see why people are bashing on the "styling"

 

sometimes...usually if they wave first, or if at first glance I think they are riding a bike, and not a scooter.
