back tail lights are out....
I just got a 2000 S2K a couple of weeks ago and just realized the back tail lights are out. I was doing some reading and I don't think that it's the fuse because my back license plate light still comes on and the fuse that controls the back tail lights also control the license plate light. It's just my back tail lights that don't come on when I turn on the lights. The outside corner back lights come on and the brake lights work too when I step on the brake. So could it just be the bulbs? Because it's kind of wierd to have both bulbs burn out at the same time.
1. Put on problem solving hat.
2. Identify possible options/solutions.
3. Execute one of the solutions.
................................. Here are 2 freebies.
Check the fuses under the dash anyways, even if you do not think that's the problem.
Spend 5 bucks and replace the bulbs (make sure it's the correct bulb)

6. If problem still exists, leave hat on.

remove the bulbs and see if they have a black/burned coloration on the glass. and even if they don't replaced just for piece of mind... you can also test for voltage at the connector with a dvom.

I don't know why but I laughed out loud when I read the description.
"back tail lights"
Is that as opposed to the front tail lights?
Any who, good luck w/ the troubleshooting. Hopefully it's just bulbs or a fuse.

hahaha here's a free correction:
that is true for ONLY halogen bulbs i.e. headlights, not standard bulbs such as tail, turn, brake etc
