at least our rc's that were superbike contenders can still be respected by the average rider

I'd keep the 7 too. It's got the classic superbike look and pedigree. My favorite ZX7 are the 1993-1995 models with the single sided air scoop.
Its a nice bike and all. But i want something much lighter if u know what i mean. the zx7r is one of the heaviest bikes. And after sitting and riding my friends 600rr there is no comparison, i want one asap.

My friend had one of those... it was a neat bike.
As for wanting to own a new, lighter super sport, I can't really fault the OP too much. I sold my TL-1000R a couple years ago due to financial hardship, and when the time came to buy a bike again I went the way of a 600rr over another tiller. The late 90's superbikes have so much character, it is tough to find in today's bikes.

this is my first street bike.. and it seemed to work fine for me. After i got onto a more modern sport bike it was cake to ride. So yeah i would say it is a decent starter bike. unless you are one short *** person this bike is fine.
