90 crx si problems..can you help???pleaas
i am planning on buying a 90 crx si shell that is also missing the engine wire harness. so what would i need to do(step by step if possible) to swap the d15b2 from my current ef sedan into the rex...mind you this car is being set up for spl competitions and not racing...
your gona wana get another uncut 89-91 civic or crx si engine harness has to be si. then your gona wana change out the d15b2 manifold to a mpfi one and get a si dizzy basicly make your d15b2 a mpfi motor so it will plug in and run in the crx si. i guess you could rewire the si harness to dpfi but it sounds like you know nothing about cars and im pretty sure you wont find a how to on it.
Sounds like you really don't NEED to do a mpfi swap, like everyone here will suggest. You can probably get by using the harness that goes with the engine you will be installing. Save money and time for the real project which is your spl competitions. good luck

you DONT know what your talking about op dont listen to this guy. you can not plug a dpfi harness into a mpfi car it wont work. you have to use the stock engine harness for the car that goes for any honda.

I read:
his car is a only a shell without a wire harness, regardless of model.
he wants to use his d15b2 (dpfi motor).
he only needs the car for a sound competition.

he, nor I, never said anything about doing that.....
P.S. If you really are only 23, FYI, I was driving pumped Honda's before you were born!
now back to thread...
good luck

Your absolutely right, sorry. I originally had assumed he could just use his current harness in the new car, but I realized they are different models (brake lights not same length, etc). Since the new car is a crx, he should get a dpfi crx harness and run that with his current dpfi motor. I hope this helps...
You will still get ALL kinds here on H-T saying that you NEED to be mpfi, but it's not true.
good luck

man, what, no.
Run the MPFI harness, and if you have to, do a "reverse" MPFI swap.
Running the harness not made for the car is not going to work.
The easiest way is going to be to run the d15 as MPFI, you only need a few things (resistor box, intake manifold, dizzy and ecu if the car doesnt have any of this stuff)
