Default Picking up an 06 GSXR. What to look for

The bike is all black with 2 new fairings due to the bike being laid down. The bike has 4K miles on it & the seller is looking to get rid of it for 5,800. What do you guys think? what should I look for when buying a new bike? Any kind of noise or anything I should keen in?

2006 GSXR 600 SALVAGE

thanks!

I wouldn't do it at all if it has been down.

What might be some of your reasons for that?

how was it laid down? check for leaking oil around the fork seals, engine cases, etc. check for a properly lubed chain, even tire wear, usual clutch noises at idle/speed.

come with $5000 cash and tell him to take it

I forgot to mention it's actually a SALVAGE title. Does that make a diff?

I would start by looking for a zuki forum.

But seriously who cares if its been a little down down, just make sure the radiator isn't bent like mine but still manage to run fine.

Salvage titles for street bikes = no go for me. I'd consider it for a track bike as I wouldn't bother registering it. It's just a pain in some states to register and deal with. The funny thing is bikes can be totaled from tipping over in the parking lot with the cost of plastics and even moreso if the frame gets scratched. Nothing wrong with it though. If the title was clean I'd say go for it and do what EGlovr said.

It can make a big difference when you try to insure it.

Better check with your insurance company before making any moves.

no just because even in cali you can get a clean title bike that has not been dropped for less.

Its kind of obvious why someone wouldn't want a street bike that has been down
