What trannys will work in a 98 Prelude?

Default What trannys will work in a 98 Prelude?

I need a new tranny for my 98 lude but dont have alot of money ive heard i can get an accord tranny from the junk yard is that true? What all trannys will work in the car?

I'd just get another Prelude tranny. Just keep searching, I can't imagine they'd be too much more than an Accord tranny, but then again I'm not sure, Never needed a new tranny before.

all h/f transmissions are useable without modification except for the f20c and SH model h22 transmission (if your car is a base model 5th gen)

The Accord tranny would work, but the Accord have taller gearing. It is a little more fuel efficient, and runs the engine at lower RPM at a given speed. The result is that your car will have a slower acceleration.
The Accord tranny is cheaper and easier to find though.
