Help with valve adjustment (whiteonrice you there?) or anyone
Ok so i decided to do the valve adjustment to see if perhaps it would reduce the noise... opened it up

lined up the tickers according to the service manual and the temple of vtec article

So i'm trying to start on cylinder 1 (all the way left most passenger side) the intake side... there are 2 nuts so i decided to try the right of the two...

I tried putting the .008in feeler gauge in there and there is no way it fits through anywhere there.. i loosed the locking nut and tried adjusting it all the way up and all the way down and it can only go up or down so much and at no point does the 0.008in feeler guage still doesnt fit all the way through...

I tried on the exhaust side it felt like i could get the .008 feeler guage through there but i cant see because its back there...
Someone HELP any insight would be appreciated...!!!!!!!!

My original complaint was alot of noise. There was some noise up top and noise down below..
anyways it still idles smoothly at 900rpms.. perhaps the top part where did the adjustment sounds better.... but down below the rattling is still loud.....

The noise is defintely coming from the block. How long ago did you buy this car? Wasn't it like 2000 miles ago? If it was a dealer I'd take it to them. You pay top dollar expecting a solid car. They should at least diagnose it free.
well i bought it used as is. I didn't really pay top dollar 6700 for it understanding it would need work. So well some on ephatch recommended checking the wobbly pulley..

hi had a mechanic change the bottom pulley today.... the old one was all messed up.... i guess it was leaking oil or something too he said...
anyways got the car back its still rattling.. i suspect perhaps its inside the engine......
So i guess i'll drive it until it breaks..... then decide what to do...
