D15B swap preventive maintainance.
I have a JDM D15B, and I want to take care of any preventative maintainance before swapping it in. So far my list is front and rear main seals, valve cover gasket, adjusting valve lash, timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner, tensioner spring, cam seal. Did I miss anything?
Also, which belt would you use? Is OEM the best for relatively stock engines? Or is something like Gates just as good?

What's the front main seal that you're talking about..??
The rear main seal is in the front that's why im asking.. And as far as timing belt goes, I was rockin OEM D15B timing belt that came on my motor when I bought it 2 years prior, an was boostin 10-12psi heavily and never had one timing belt issue, so I'd say OEM replacement well work just fine for what you're asking.. "It's a VX belt btw, incase you didn't find that out yet by trying to use a Z6 belt lol..."
And for cam seal, I think you're asking about the distributor O-Ring correct..?? I'd only replace that if it's leaking, if you wait til after you do the swap and it's leaking, big whoop its only 2 minutes to do and takes a skill level of about 1% honda knowledge... GL

Are you serious? How the hell can a rear main seal be in the front, and still called rear? There are two main seals on the motor. One in the oil pump housing (the front main) and the seal in the rear main housing ( the rear main seal)

No, I'm sure he's talking about the oil seal for the cam that is behind the cam sprocket.
Use OEM components for all three seals and the timing components if you plan to drop the engine in and use it for a reliable daily driver. And do throw in a new distributor o-ring. It's $1.50 and takes 5 minutes.

Easy, when its in the [freak]in front.... If it was given its name due to its location we'd be callin it the lower left main seal, so i was simply asking what one he was talking about, no need to be a dick....

In the front of what? lower left of what?
You failed and were wrong. admit it, and move on.
The engine itself is the reference, not it's location in the car. You obviously are an armchair engine builder. Go outside and do something....

Ummm ok more like I didn't fail at anything, the OP failed at being specific... Than you failed at showing common courtesy, and instead pointed fingers and called names...

I took my timing belt off today since I found my dad's impact wrench and wanted to make sure it would work. The part number was XXXXX-P28-004. It is a Z6 belt. With the timing belt tensioner, I think you could get away with either.
I actually bought the engine from a guy who bought it a year ago, swapped it into his car, and is now going b-series. I think the oil pump should be fine since I heard it run and I brought it home right after he pulled it.
