Default Aftermarket dizzy issue: No tach

I ordered up a dizzy for my buddy's car. I got it from a company called A1 Ignition products or something along those lines. Anyways, The car runs spectacular with the dizzy but upon start up, there was no tach signal to the cluster. I called dude up, he honored his lifetime warranty, and sent me out a new ICM. Swapped this one in, same issue. Next, I tried an oem one from my distributor, and it worked perfectly. So, i know the ICM is the issue but im wondering if this company got a bad batch, or is it the wrong part? He is supposed to be sending out another, but ive got a feeling the result will be the same. Is it possible i was sent the wrong distributor? P.S. The car is a 00 civic ex, jdm itr swap. The plug on the engine harness was converted to OBD2a 2 years ago and never had a tach issue.
