I recently ordered a 94 h22a and when I got the motor in under the intake manifold theirs a black box that was cracked. it has a couple of vacuum lines on it... what is that part called and do I really need it? thanks

It is a vacuum box for the IAB system.

 

Whats the IAB system do? might you know where a website that would sell one? thanks

 

Intake Air Bypass, there are 8 runners in the intake manifold and 4 of them have butterfly valves. The IAB system keeps the butterflies closed at low rpms for better low end power, and then opens them at higher rpms for better top end. 2-stage intake manifold would be another name for it....

You could also try your local honda wrecker if you have one nearby.

it's like $27 plus shipping from slhonda. Like someone suggested you might want to check the local salvage yard for one, if not, they're really not that expensive.
