great OEM upgrade but IMO, just save up and get a good set of aftermarket level 1 or 2 cams such as the BC 3+, the blox As or Bs, or the skunk 2 TUNER(not the pro) series 1 or 2, I've also heard good things about rocket motorsports stuff.

CTR cams are really good as a upgrade for a SiR-G, My suggestion would be to install TI retainers and you will be ok
If you use anything else other than skunk 2 tuner series stage 1 which is the same as CTR cams you would have to change your pistons to a higher compression,
after market cams have a larger overlap and that leaks some of the compression out, not a good idea if your using SiR-G lower dome pistons
Use CTR cams, but if you want to be safe buy titanium retainers that should make your valve train lighter, good luck

So basically CTR cams are not all that reliable because I will need to change my Pistons and get Retainers that would sustain my Compression level.

Would CTR Pistons be easy to Swap in or would I need to do head work in order to fit??? All I want to do is get my Sir-G motor as close as possible to a B18C-R... Any suggestions ?

Why not the pro series Skunk2 cams?

I have that same motor as this guy, with valve train and Pro1's. I absolutely love them. Sure, more compression is where they would make the best power, but itr/ctr cams are designed for compression as well. Only down fall to the Pro series cams is the fact that a tune is an absolute must. Good luck

similar to what ej8chu said they aren't spectacular if you don't have at least a CR somewhere in the 11s or above. you can put them in and they'll make more power over OEM, but how much more IDK, plus last I checked they were more than any of the cams I mentioned that don't neccessarily need the high compression to perfrom like the pro series does

A tune would be HIGHLY reccomended with ANY cam(s) you drop into the motor

evil over-exaggereated a little. swapping out the pistons is not a "must do".....if you wanted to raise compression then you could go with a slightly thinner HG and flat faced valves. any stage 1 cam set I mentioned won't need higher compression to make good power over OEM, but more compression always means more power.

My car should be in the 180-190 wheel range on my internally stock Jdm Gsr, but i do have pretty much every bolt on, and a great tune. Sure pistons, a thin HG, flat face valves, or milling the head/block would all raise compression and show the true potential. But these cams make a hell of a lot more power than my stage 1 tuner series did, not to mention the torque(lol). All in all, these cams make a much greater usable power band regardless of compression. I HIGHLY recommend them
