Just bought a car (EG hatch) that has some eBay JDM-look black reflector housings and a PnP HID kit... now I know that for the absolute best lighting I need to retrofit, but that is not an option for me at this time.... and well the lighting is pretty poor because it is scattered everywhere.

Is this due to the non-OEM housing? Or is it strictly due to the HID's. If the housings are OK, then I will replace the HID's with the Phillips Xtra Vision halogens that were reviewed here.... or do I have to try to find the OEM reflector housings?
