Default Signficance of shifting speed?

I ran my all motor LS before with an LS tranny, stock clutch, stock flywheel, and stock cat and ran a 14.55 @ 97mph. Very respectable, and I was able to run mid 14's all day with similar trap speeds.
Since then, I installed an J1 (b16a) tranny, exedy clutch, ITR flywheel, and am now running a testpipe. I also stripped the rear of the car to the bone. I went to the track and could break into 14's. The car feels much faster in every gear, but the best time I could muster up was a 15.03 @ 90mph ...
Obviously I tried playing around with fuel pressure, cam timing, ignition timing, reset ECU.. The thing was is that I'm running a different short shifter than I had before, and my first run I couldn't even get the car into 2nd (first time shifting @ 8k on the new tranny/clutch). So 2nd run I jammed it into 2nd (I couldn't do it nearly as fast as I could with my old setup) and I slowly started improving my times.

The conditions were very similar, and DEFINATELY not big enough of a difference to set me BACK another 7mph @ 1/2 second. I'm figuring the much slower shifting is to blame as opposed to small little tunings here & there. I'm convinced by changing the shifter back to stock I can start shifting like I used to and bring down those times BIG TIME... My friend figures its pretty likely every slower shift (lets say 3 tenths slower each shift) can easily make a HUGE difference. Just wondering what you guys think... TIA

Nobody? Ok here's coles:

Car went 14.55 @ 97 mph very similiar conditions, I changed stuff which should make it go a lot faster BUT I couldn't shift as fast as before, in fact I had to fight to get it in 2nd. The best time I could get was a 15.03 @ 90mph... QUESTION: can slow shifting hurt times this badly?

also, what was this ls all motor setup that was netting you 14.5? must have been f*cking awesome without a clutch...

Its all in the head, stock bottom end. I ran mid 14's all day despite the temperature change thate day.... However this time I'm hoping these horrific times are because of the shift speed. I mean before, I could guarantee you couldn't shift faster, and obviously my times proved that. But now with all these upgrades, it doesn't make ANY sense to be running slower, let alone not as fast...
