I Planning to fully Build my SOHC, I just need an estimate of how much i will be spending. And if some one has a fully built SOHC please let me know how much you spent to built it.

 

kind of a vague question, personally i don't know...but if you want people to give better estimates then specify if you are hot tanking the block?, milling the head?, resurfacing?, 3 angle valve job?, how much hp do you want the engine to be able to handle?

 

$1000-sleeves
$300-rods
$500-pistons
$80-bearings
$250-springs & retainers
$200-valves
$100-headgasket
$100-headstuds
$100-mainstuds
for a grand total of $2630...and thats if you do all the work yourself

Yeah, my guess was just $3k for the block & head...NOT including extra port work on the head.
