Default Si or Hx wheels?

Should I get Si wheels?
Or go with Hx,also could 205 tire fit on Hx?

200 with steelies for hx with 60% tread and 300 for si wheels with 50% tread tire.

going on my 2000 civic coupe dx

I'm not a big fan of Si wheels, so I'd choose HX wheels. But really Si wheels look better on some cars than HX wheels. So it really depends on which you prefer.

My opinion:

Si wheels for looks... especially if theyre polished like mine!
Hx wheels because they weight much less.

EX rotors and calipers end up too big. If you were to put HXes on an EX the wheels don't fit on the front unless you shave the caliper or use spacers. I thought I already told you that on ClubCivic.

if i had 2 pikk i would say si's all day,..hx wheels look ugly *** hell ..the only good thing about hx wheels ,is the light weight either then that no offense ,they are corny looking especially on a ek..just my opinion.

really? just curious then, and kinda off topic. aren't the 14in steelies the same offset as the HX's? and if they are then i wouldn't see why they wouldn't fit. cause i put on some 14in steelies from a 90 ex civic on a 94 gsr, and they fit. had no rubbing issues or any of that. so was just curious, HX 14in the same as 14in steelies?

I don't know what rubs on them (I know it hits the caliper) because I've never had any HXes on my EX.

I know that everyone who tries to put HX wheels on EXes end up with the same problem though.

EXes have larger brakes. They have the same size front brakes as the Si does. They're 10.3 inch rotors instead of the 9.5 inch rotors the other trims have.

yea, gsr's have the same 10.3in rotor, same with the 90 ex civic. but the caliper on the gsr looked bigger then the 90 ex. i thought it wouldn't fit, but it did. spun fine. and where also talking about the old ef 14in steelies, not the LS steelies. so the gap for the caliper is smaller/flatter with the 14's from the 90 ex. at a glance it looked like it wouldn't fit, but it did. drove like that through winter, was fine.

I'm talking about 1996-2000 Civic EX brakes and steelies.

There are plenty of after market wheels that are much lighter, and not all of them are expensive.

You won't have any problems fitting a 205 on them either.

I just personally don't like the larger sidewalls. The 60 would be the sidewall though. You could get something like a 45 for those wheels I believe.

I went from a 40 series tire to a 50, and I hated the difference. I felt like there was handling lost in the thicker tire

HX wheels will rub on the handle/arm ontop of the caliper (ex models and above) due to a slightly different offset.. grind it down with a dremel and give it a small coat of clear coat to avoid rust.

i don't really have a picture handy.
you can't get a 14" tire with a 40 sidewall though. I think the smallest is a 45. Currently I have 50 though, blah. So I can't get you the pic you want, sorry
