Hey guys. I am looking to do a D15Z1 swap into an 88 Civic STD hatch. I am worried about wiring the 5-wire o2 sensor. I have a factory service manual for a VX and I still can't quite figure it out. I want to know what I am getting myself into before I buy all the parts b/c when I start I will only have about two weeks to complete the job. I have done swaps before but it was always an engine that would work with parts exchange and light wiring. I tried to post the wiring diagram but I cannot. My computer keeps saying something about a clip board. I may not be reading the diagram right but it looks to have 7 wires coming off it.

 

i had one in my crx and never ran vtec and just used the regular o2

 

If you hook it up as a standard OBD 1 swap without wiring the 5-wire it will always run on 8 valves. That means probably close to 50MPG. I have a VX all stock and it runs 35mpg being driven hard most of the time.

 

 

Where did you get your service manual. Is it in electronic format. Is it factory or Helms. The diagram I have doesn't have the ecu pins. I have a factory manual that i downloaded

 

it is the USDM factory manual in .pdf fprmat - i downloaded it from somewhere, but don't remember exactly where - are you looking in the right place in the manual? - the diagrams with ECU pin-outs are in chapter 11

 

What do the boxed letters mean. I have looked at the diagram key and searched the internet. The A coming of the LAF for example.
