So I went ahead with that trade SV>>>RC (new bike pics inside)
A week or 2 ago i posted a thread asking if I should go ahead with a trade for my 2000 sv650 to a 2003 rc51.
We ended up doing to trade and I am now the proud owner of an SP2. There was no cash involved, I gave him my bike plus 1 1/2 gsxr front ends, a 636 shock, a shift kit, and a few other odds and ends. I cleared out my sv650 inventory to him. He also gave me aftermarket rotors, a power commander that needs to be repaired, and a couple other things.

First impressions are;
A: Twice the power (feels good to not have to go full throttle when i really need to get somewhere)
B: Significantly stiffer (but handles like a dream comparatively)
C: Comfort Level is the same (id say the SV was more and less aggressive in certain ways, i made it that way)
D: Heat is pretty bad but not terrible at all (averaging 180-190)
E: Gas mileage really surprised me, I am getting 37 a gallon on average and 42+ if I barely push it (Filled up 5 times so far)
F: There is a dent on the left side of the gas tank that bothers the crap out of me. I gotta replace that asap. Other fairings are in great shape though.
Overall the bike is a blast. I do miss the sv because of all the time spent modding and riding it and I wish I could have both but if I did have to choose between the 2 id take the RC in a heartbeat.

1 lowside on the track with track plastics on yep, street fairings are mint, bad dent in tank but i will be replacing that soon.
and the transmission was completely replaced with all new seals and fluid at a reputable shop. I know what youre thinking, and youll be the first to know when it starts giving me problems

my gf lives in irvine so there is a good chance you may have seen me on the sv down there before near culver, its gonna be the rc now though

I want an SV... thats what I want as my first bike. Its just the kind of bike I really want.. not the 250 sadly enough.
How much did you sell yours for? What years would you say were good for buying an SV650, how as the 00's?

he wanted to race in lightweight twins and sv's are cheaper to race
