Ok, I have a 1988 Civic hatch with Koni yellows and ground control, Sadly It was killed when a 19 yo girl hit me. So I went out and bought another hatch, this on is a 1990. I want to put my suspension set up on the 1990. The problem is as most people know, Honda changed the lower control arms for 89-91, and the shocks bolt up slightly differently. My Questions is can you switch the control arms on these cars?
They are different sizes, the 1988 looking a little bigger, but seem like they might bolt up. Anyone ever done this before?
I have tried seaching and found a lot of interesting info on the suspension and changes they made and why, but didnt find anything that answered my question.
Just looking for some feedback before I attempt it as I believe the bolts are probably fused together ha!

Not really a helpful post but did you know that the 88 CRX LCA is the same as a Type R?

 

Just did this a month ago. I had an 89 civic si and I bought some JDM Teins. What I did is source out the Lower control arms from an 88 crx si and swapped out the ones from my 89 si and everything bolted right up.

Just remember it your going to use the OEM sway bar on your car you will need 1988 CRX Si lower controls arms, if you don't care about OEM sway bars then any crx 88 lower control arm will work.

Please correct me If I'm wrong
