Default Manifold with upside down wastegate fitting ???

While putting my turbo kit together, I have been coming across "shorty" turbo manifolds that have the wastegate on the underneath of the manifold, so that the wastegate is upside down - do you guys know if this effects the performance of the wastegate or do you think it would ?

Never really seen a car with a upside wastegate before lol.

advantage = placement for fitment issue ? attain better placement, resolving creep issue ?

probly just better fitment or they can use less bends/materials to place it there. = cheaper.

i would think fitment for WG and DT would be easier.

Here is a pic of the manifold I am talking about - are these okay? Do you guys think this would fit in a H22A EG Civic with no A/C?

i bought my car with a shorty manifold with the wastegate on the bottom side...from what the seller told me, its a love-fab. its definitely a quality manifold though, but ive posted a pic on here before and nobody's told me what it is. all confusion aside, it works great for my setup...stock block h22....holds 8psi all day long....never creeps a bit (the flange is right at the collector).

The manifold you showed looks like your typical ebay manifold made out of super thin gauge metal. It'll work, but for how long, who knows. It WILL crack and break, possibly leaving your turbo or wastegate on the side of the road.

I'm not saying the design isn't good, I'm saying that the design manufactured by ebay is not good.

Thanks for your input. I sure would not want my Garret on the street side. Can you guys recommend a good manifold that is reasonably priced? I do not wish you use a log type though...

Hit up RCAutoworks. (90blackcrx)

If you search his name around on the forum or go to his website you'll see. Beautiful manifolds and welding capabilities.

I decided to go with a Lovefab since I heard lots of good things about them and I was able to get a used Lovefab "Shorty" for a reasonable price from a H-T member I know pretty well

It's funny that the Ebay manifold looks identical to the ones a few other sellers have on Ebay BUT when I emailed this seller, he claimed that his ones had reinforced welds and would NEVER crack unlike theirs... yeeeahhh okay and my name is Brian Spilner lol.

Which ones were you talking about ? The designers might be the same but its more so what material they are using. Ebay manifolds use thinner material, then most manifold makers on this site.

I am promoting Full-Race your absolutely right BUT I am not the owner of FR. He on the other hand promotes his business any way he can thats why he was banned under his original name because he doesn't wanna become a sponsor. I am just promoting a rock solid company where as he is promoting his business which is a big no no. I just don't like the guy so any chance I get I take full advantage of it. Also, its irrelevant to this thread, his manifold doesn't have the wastegate located on the underside of the manifold like the OP asked about in the first place.

A one or two line signature with your Web site and phone number is okay with me. Personally, I'd consider it the same thing as wearing a company Polo shirt after you've left work.

If that is all he is doing, that's okay with me.

If he's supposed to be permanently banned because he walked out on a contract or caused some other offence, we'll find out about it shortly, I'm sure.

In the mean time, there's no point in discussing a simple signature that's just a couple of lines and doesn't have anything annoying like multi-coloured text or big text.

You got issues with me, take it up with me. Why handle it like a child, thats all that you have been doing. I sent you an IM, we can talk over h-t, or email if you have that big of an issue.

I still have no clue on what I ever did to you, it would at least be nice to know whats your problem.
