Default another 93 civic hatch

just figured I'd bookmark the build on this one for fun as I've never really done it before. probably the last honda I'll ever build too.

anyway, started out as a 93 dx with 180k that I got super cheap in atlanta when I lived there. It was an automatic and didnt have a straight panel on the body. I got hold of a 91 LS that had been flipped for free and ripped out the engine/tranny and the brake system. I then parted it to the ground on ebay and crushed the shell for some extra $$$, also sold the dx's original drivetrain, etc and got more $$. Made the initial purchase of the dx almost nothing and I traded stuff for wheels, etc. new exhaust, etc.

Tossed it all in the dx and at the same time converted the car to stick and had some fun. By the way, you can use the 90-93 LS power steering line in a civic if you bend it into a loop so it will fit properly in the car that way you dont have to find 94+ LS PS parts.

anyway, moved to charleston, sc and got sick of the car looking like crap so I found a good cheap CX body and started swapping everything over.

dx is the blue one, new cx is under the overhang. horrible cellphone pic haha.

the cx had a crappy grey interior so I stripped it to a hull and pretty much transferred EVERYTHING from the dx over so it's now got a black interior. I then proceeded to sell ALL the extra crap I had left over to get some money back...which pretty much put me to almost having nothing in the car at all at this point lol.

here's a pic of me in the process of gutting the cx, the interior looks a LOT better in the pic than in person I guess cause my new camera rocked so much but in reality the only interior pieces I saved was the VIN plate on the dash and the seats.

after I finished getting everything transferred and got the car running and a bunch of bugs sorted out, I realized I still had a bunch of extra parts so I sold all that and managed to find a good used b16 greddy turbo/dp setup so I got that uber cheap and then grabbed an intercooler kit off ebay.

as for the engine itself, the way I set it up was I used the civic harness on the obd-0 ls engine and used the d15 injectors as they are the same rate as the stock ls injectors and then ran a stock p75 ecu. With the turbo kit, I looked at it as, hell, same harness as the 92-95 civic...same injectors...might as well toss a civic blue box on it. so that's what I did. runs damn good too might I add. I tossed some cheap gauges on it and got a tach cluster as well. What with the blue box being setup for a smaller single cam and I'm running it on a larger twin cam engine, I decided to temporarily hook up my wideband from one of my mustang projects to check the a/f ratio. @8psi (stock wastegate pressure), the car runs 11.3-11.7 which is perfect as far as I'm concerned considering it's a blue box haha.

anyway, here's a few pics as I was tossing everything on. if you notice in the second pic, the steering wheel is upsidedown haha. I still hadnt clocked it after the interior swap due to needing to take the dash back out again for some other stuff. made seeing the tach and speedo a pain haha.

anyway, after that, I had some goofy problems with the idle for a while and radiators didnt want to cooperate with me either until I realized I had some vacuum lines mixed up and a damn rag in the lower radiator hose

but yeah, as far as I'm concerned at this point, it's done and here's the final pics. I dont plan to do anything else to it as I've got it for sale locally for some extra wedding cash but figured I'd post about it since it was another fun build and I've never posted a build thread lol.

all told, at the end after purchases, sales, swaps, etc. I've got $2200 and change in the entire car and even being turbo, I still get 30-32mpg in it.

If I had the desire to go back and change a few things, I would definitely put power steering back on it as manual sucks if you ask me. I'd also put the a/c back on it too and probably paint it as well. That and I'd finally rip off the 90-91 head and toss on the 94 head sitting in the garage with the bigger valves and cams as well as crank up the boost to 10psi and make the map sensor mad at me

anyway, just sharing.
