Default Perhaps someone knows the solution. Starting problems on 2003 600rr

Hey guys so i have a buddy who rode into his disc lock in late 2006. He decided not to fix the bike for the longest time and finally after a year we decided to start fixing it. We got the rotor fixed, but since the bike has been sitting so long it wouldnt start. We simply assumed clogged fuel pump and injectors so we had those cleaned.

When we checked the fi codes, it threw a lot of codes, but we checked every code individually and cleared them all, everything should be good.

As of now, the bike will start but it cant hold an idle. My mechanic and I believe that the injectors are still clogged and need to be cleaned again seeing as how they are not able to shoot enough fuel. We think the fuel pump is able to build enough initial pressure to start the bike but it cant keep constant fuel pressure due to clogged injectors.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Id really like to help my friend fix his bike

Cliffs:
Bike has been sitting for a year
All codes cleared and checked out
Starts but wont hold idle
Dirty injectors?

Maybe the gas is bad? A year isnt too long but just an idea. Try draining it and filling it back up.

you tried to start it on year-old gas? are you serious? when gas sits, it pretty much turns to varnish. drain, clean, refill, try to start again

when i bought a stunt bike, it was sitting there for over a year. it'll start but wouldn't hold idle like yours. i dumped the gas and changed battery. starts up normally since then.

i bought an f4i that was sitting for 2-3 years and i just changed the battery and drained the gas, filled it with 93 and ran like a champ. id get a voltmeter and check the battery while its running.

When the bike dies does the electrical still work? Headlights and everything still on? If not, could be the stator.

Like others have said, its most likely dirty injectors. How did you clean them? Did you send them out to get professional cleans and rebuilt? They should test everything and send u specs on them if you did. How long does the bike idle for?
