Would the 87 crx be a hf? What kinda milage would come out of one

and the CRX itself would just be the unclassified DX

it would say CRX hf if it was

As stated, there were three CRX models in '87. The HF and the 1.5 (the name DX was not applied to the CRX until 1988) and the Si.

In '87 all three cars had 1.5 engines (the EW family) that shared a similar block. The parts inside and outside of the blocks were different.

It is reasonable to expect to get high 30's and into the 40's mpg with a good running HF on the highway. There have been claims into the high 40's.

I get mid 50's highway in my '86 Civic. It's a 1.3 though. From my research, this is the king of the mileage, the '84-'87 CRX that is.
