My 4 day $50 paint job..
Bought this car on Monday, June 30th and started sanding on Friday July 4th.
How I bought the car.
We thought that painting the trim before starting to paint would be a good idea, turned out not to be. I only have 1 picture of it sanded so here it is. Btw we only sanded down the surface rust, didn't fix the rusted through pieces (we're lazy teenagers what can I say). We also didn't fix the dent in the hood.
We sanded it down with 220 grit and some of these cool sanding blocks all by hand.
Here it is after about 2-3 coats (We spray painted the bumpers).
Then we wet sanded with 400 and 600 grit, yeah that's the highest we found at Home Depot. Now we have 1000 grit to do the final wetsand and buff, once I find a buffer.
Here is the final coat.
And here's is how it sits right now
If you have any questions feel free to ask. The roof still could use some work but I'm happy with how it looks. Just needs lowered and then possibly getting some BMW Bottlecaps. Nothing major.
