Default NOPI To Cancel Rest Of Season

Just got word that Nopi has cancelled the rest of the races for this year. Can anyone confirm this?

I can neither confirm or deny. It will be news to me if they have cancelled it.

Something you guys need to know is that NOPI parts is a seperate business than Nopi Motorsports. The only thing they share is the name.

Heard the same rumor a few weeks ago that they were filing chpt.11 but cant confirm.

Its pretty obvious that's the direction NOPI was going with the rest of the season. Do you guys remember what happend when NHRA decided to cancel the whole truck racing series?

I hear a bunch of lawsuits coming about, but if they have already filed chpt. 11 then big race teams wont really be able to get anything.

Hate to say it, but i've said it since the NOPI NHRA merger, having 1 major series is the best thing that can happen in this sport. We're too small to be split between two major series. 1 major series means all the pro racers that travel will be at each race. More racers and more competition is what we need to bring this sport back up.

Looks like NOPI has done a great job of running the series this year, hopefully they'll be gone next year and Battle will be the main series...

I think i have an equation that will answer your question.

Nopi = Richard Simmons

Richard Simmons = Rainbow

Rainbow = Rain has occured

Rain Sucks For Racers

So if my math is correct then Nopi = Sucks for racers

Do you concur?

The writing is on the wall.. I said the same thing about NHRA and NHRA came on here to say it was not true, only to announce after the race season was over it sold its series to Nopi. Nopi is a corporation unlike Boti which is run by 2 brothers and does not have to answer to higher ups in the corporate ladder. Nopi was 2 options
quit and take your losses and survive or a slow death like that of IDRC

Wow! I feel bad for all the Pro racers from all over the country including some from Puerto Rico who've spent all this money building cars for a series that doesn't exist anymore.

BOTI is where it all started..... Only can hope for the best right now....If there's no races, there's no racers...no racers means no business....its just a disgusting ripple affect....

But I think BOTI will need to step up and land big tracks....Like for instance Orlando Speedworld cannot handle the big name race cars unless they really revamp the track and facility

Don't worry, GRS Motorsports and there cars and friends cars will fit right into BOTI. Those guys are to good to be over looked.

we need to have division races not natcaional(spelling). Not like anyone like to travel out of their back yard anyway.

Like for the upper eastcoast:
MIR
Epping
Etown
Atco
VA
Maple Grove
Island
ect.

Same thing could be done for other parts of the country, and if need be have the top 2 in point travel(if they want) to a big race in the middle at the end of the year.

So say BOTI does become the main series, will they be coming to the midwest a little more is it too dominated by IFO for them? And for that matter, how has IFO had such great success to continue growing every year? What scientific equation did they figure out before everyone else?

I was told by a real reliable source that the Pro Truck Teams sued NOPI and won something like 1.2 MILLION dollars for the 2 races that were canceled. Teams, Sponsors, Travel, etc that was already planned out for the year. Guess NOPI was just all "Bark and no Bite." Sorry to all of you especially on the Eastcoast. Hopefully someone will pick up an event or two.

Pretty interesting read from Speed Channels website, Sounds like BOTI is the way to go, but I hope they don't forget the midwest.

You need to realize if IFO has next years racers on the books or they will soon. There may be no dates available for BOTI.

I'm sure Frank with help from Jason as well as others will do all he can to pick up the slack.

Just looks at how he's stepped up this year.

I think he is referring to the fact that in your original post you wrote- pro stock truck teams sued NOPI. When in fact they sued NHRA, not Nopi.
I think thats probably what you meant to write.

I was wondering what you were smoking.

Guys this is all speculation and no one knows the truth so why the hell are you even commenting on it. NOPI did what they had to do to get asses in the seats over the last few years and it worked pretty well. It would be nice if someone from there would respond so everyone would know the truth. Until then everyone is just flapping their gums and wasting bandwidth.
