Okay guys, this might be it...guy wants to trade his WRX even up for my ITR
Okay, here's our e-mail conversations (start from the bottom then go up)...
Seems like a good deal guys. The car has only 10,800 miles on it. Maybe one of you trustworthy Michigan guys can check it out for me.
I don't have a scanner but I can mail you some pics. The car is silver
and I
am looking for a direct trade. Here is a list of mods and factory
options
Factory premium speaker upgrade
Factory sub woofer
Factory amp
Kartboy short shifter and bushings
K&N panle filter
Samco silicone intercoller hose set ( 3 piece )
UR Underdrive pulley
Blitz SBC-id electronic boost controller
Knocklink with Bosch sensor
MRT turbo back exhaust ( this is 3" from turbo to tail pipe 304
stainless
with 1 high flow cat replacing 2 cats. it has dual tail pipes and looks
and
sounds similar to stock but just slightly louder than stock at idle and
hard
acceloration. It is very conservative and a great system for long
trips and
no trouble with neighbors or police)
The exhaust listed above is not on the car currently as I am awaiting
gaskets to install it but it has 1 year left on a warranty provided by
MRT.
It never gave a CEL and fit perfectly the first time with no rattles
which
most exhausts don't seem to do.
For suspension
Whiteline 22mm adjustable rear anti roll bar
Whiteline H/D endlinks
Goodridge stainless braided brake lines
Motul 600 fluid ( complete flush and bleed at beginning of summer )
Carbotech Panther plus front brake pads
1 set of 4 Yokoham A520 tires ( 225/50/16 ) mounted and balanced on 16
X 7 "
six spoke wheels with less than 1500 miles on them
The factory stock wheels and tires mounted and balanced for winter use
Lastly I replaced the stock sunvisors with cloth visors that have a
much
smaller airbag warning lable and a mirror for each side. Look at the
junk
stock ones and you'll understand why ( they look bad for a Kia let
alone the
WRX )
I live in Michigan but if you are interested we can arrange a meet
somewhere
in the middle.
Mike

Personally, I wouldn't do it jsut because I love my R - but for somebody looking for something different you should on that. Sounds good to me.
I think if i lived in a bad area and didnt have a garage and what not, id be all over that car. I drove my friends WRX and loved that lil turbo and all that room. good luck.

makes you wonder why he'd be willing to trade a WRX that's "worth" more for a Type R....perhaps the R ownz WRXs?
keep the R.

keep the R.
Maybe he's just dumb? hehe
ITR is unique, but at least the WRX is not as likely to end up with its motor in a civic.
it also has boost haha.

Seriously...the point was made that the ITR will hold a better value than the WRX a couple of years down the line...
Also my stand on the WRX has been this...it needs a turbo. The ITR doesn't. I always have to chuckle when a WRX owner comes up and says...my car is faster. "Ok, let me slap in a turbo or supercharger and we'll race"...and then"Ahhh that's not fair"...
True they are both stock, but I think the ITR is a better made car, hands down. More engineering, planning, and care went into making the ITR what it is today.
I agree with you completely in some aspects. The ITR is a true performance car and does OWN the WRX in many performance categories. It's a different animal and should be respected as such. Unfortunately it is a high maintenance car. I'm tired of worrying about parking it, etc. Not to mention I am building the hatch and the WRX will be good for winter duty.

I'll take a look if you'd like me too, Yellow Dragon. E-mail me at both work [kreed2@ford.com] and at home [itrelise@aol.com].

Chui ~ I'll probably take you up on that offer.
I would do the same for anyone here that needed me to look at a car for them in the cornfields here.

Dude..,don't hate. Don't be trying to steal my trade.

If I give it up I will let you know.

another thing to think about, i bought my WRX for 26, sticker was 28, i had about every available option on it, 2000 miles and 6 weeks later, had it appraised at carmax, they offered me 19. Your R is worth more still. just some food for thought.
