a great flood and a dead starter.
I accidentally hit a flooded area with about sixteen inches of water while going forty mph...and my car has about three inches of ground clearance... therefore you can imagine the forces exerted on my car and that water got into everything. after about ten min i turned on my car and it sounded like a tractor and wouldn't go very fast. it stalled trying to back into the garage. and it wouldn't turn on aggain. i think i fried my starter cuz for ten min i just cranked the sucker. and now my car won't turn on. there is no hearing the solenoid click when i turn the key. if my starter is dead, would it prevent my car from being push started in gear? my battery charge is sufficient 13.5 v. help? what all does the starter affect?

you've probably got a beer cans worth of puddle water in your cylidner. Water doesn't compress, so therefore the reason you burned out your started, possibly damaged your flywheel and maybe bent a rod / other nightmarish **** in your motor. Sounds like you're done.
