Default Electrical Problem? 90 EF

90 EF hatch with a weird problem that ive kinda had before but a lil different. My starter is dead, but before it crapped out i have moving around the ground and positive cables just to make sure nothing was loose. then when i get in the car and press down on the brake, the "no seatbelt" light wil come on, as well as the "door ajar" light.

this happened before when my brake safety switch went out BUT in this case my brake lights are working so i can rule that out. (brake safety switch failure results in brake lights not working).

so yea i took the starter out and replacing it this weekend, could this be from wires crossing? or something else completely?

Thanks

it sounds like you have a back feed, replace the brake light switch, see if it goes away

Check your body ground. If it has a bad connection it will cause it to back feed through other various electrical circuits
