i use d.i.d chains, i think there the most quality, and they do make the strongest chain. for sprockets id go with steel cause they last longer than aluminum, unless ur a weight freak, then go with some aluminum renthals. i use sunstar steel sprockets. and for gearing, i know 1 down 2 up is popular gearing, but if u do any highway riding your rpms are gonna be up there. im goin with a 520 conversion on my rr and im gonna do 1 down, stock in the back.

I'm running a -1/+2 D.I.D 520 chain and Sprocket Specialist rear and have no complaints. I rarely hear about chains snapping. If its going to snap its prob going to be at the master link. Do you want to gear it for higher mph or what? With a -1/+2 set up the bike will feel like a totally different bike down low. There will be a slight loss up top but how often are you going to go 150+?

im done doing 150+ on this bike, over past 3 years ive been in a lot of high speed chases and had a lot of close calls almost stuffing myself under some cars running from cops, but now im in school so im really trieng to calm down plus i have a really awesome girlfirend who i wanna stay around for so i have something to live for the 520 conversion...how much top end is lost and how much acceleration is gained would this knock an 11.4 @126 down into high 10's...also how bad will the speedometer be off, any idea on the math

run -1/+2 on my track **** and it pulls hard up to 140ish

vortex sprockets RK chain always.. RK only because I can get them with master links instead of the rivet.

edit: 525 by the way

-1/+2 seems to be the most common gear change of any bike. Any of the name brand companys are fine (RK, D.I.D., etc.). I think it's Vortex that makes an aluminum sprocket with steel coated teeth or something, maybe look into that if you're concerned about longevity/weight.

By the way, I'm sure your bike is completely capable of high 10's, learn how to launch better maybe? I'm not saying you cant launch but 99% of the time a better rider can do better than a better equipped rider.
