Default ITR age limitations?

Hello guys and gals,

I know there have been "how old are you threads" and all but I have a question. Does age become a factor of owning an R or any import for that fact? I had a 98 ITR that I do miss and have thought about getting another a few times but sometimes the fact that I am almost 28 pops into my head and I have seen others talk about this when posting their R for sale.

What are your thoughts on this? I often hear people say at a certain age you should move on to the "big boy toys" or in other terms the expensive cars ie: M series, EVO's and so on and I don't want to believe it but it has popped in my head more than once and would like to get some of your opinions on this...

Thanks all

I don't think it really matters. If you have money to move on to the big toys then do it. If not then dont. simple.

There's a lot of cars I could probably buy, but won't, because they are all bloated overly refined overly smooth piles o' crap. The ITR is a drivers car, so if you want a drivers car, get it.

Age only matters if you actually care about what others think over your own feelings, and in that case, you have more issues than just buying a car.

its not how big your wallet is, its how well you can tune your car.

most days id rather have a built R running 14 psi than say a porshe carrera. doesnt matter how big your nuts are, both are wicked fast. other days a porshe would be nice, but wtf id have more money for gas and

I am 28 and I just got my first ITR after owning a lot of different cars including E90 3 series. Mine is yellow too and people do stare but I love the car and that's all that matters.

I could not agree more....

However, I hate the fact that it gets lumped in w/ the ricres because the car has a big wing, even if it is functional ....

The retard ricers have made us all a target for the cops, and for theives....

X4 or 5

I could give a **** what people think of me. The ITR is not my daily driver, but my 94 Accord is!! I like both cars because I do, I could afford a BMW, TL, or something of that sort.....but I dont want to.

sometime I think Im getting a little old for messing with my R but like others have said, you cant get another raw car like an itr. Its a nice driving experience and very reliable, why not? who cares about what others think. get a black R and stay under the radar grandpa!

I've often times wondered the same thing. I'm 34 years old and picking up my first ITR this Saturday and couldn't be happier. I have always wanted one and it just happens that now I can afford one as a 3rd car. I don't care what anyone else thinks, it's a special car.

Most folks don't understand, or I guess care would be the appropriate term, what the R is all about so forget about what folks perceive. Obviously, you couldn't have the car as a main source of transportation if you were a realtor or sales professional.

R owners all have somewhat of a similar profile: motorsports enthusiests who don't have or don't want to spend gobs of money to have something they can take to the track.

I think that if you are over (for instance) 30 and you drive and ITR, you appreciate the car for it's rareness, performance, sound, and character often more than overprilileged young brats that have little appreciation and will be moving on to whatever is the next big thing.

41 & refused to grow up. My upper management still makes jokes to me about being in management title already for a while, why I still prefer kiddie's car. If I get any yuppie sedan, I feel I am just another salaryman on the highway.

there is a 40 year old guy in my neighborhood with an ITR. He loves it to death and I always see him working on it or cleaning it.

42 - got mine 5 yrs ago. Never selling it.

Pretty sure 90+% of people think I drive a kiddie-car and am irresponsible or something. Guess what - I don't care. I have one of the best driver's cars ever devised, and it cost less than $20k, gets 35 mpg and is as reliable as my 88 Civic.

Then again, I have driven an 88 Civic DX hatch to work every day for last 19.9 yrs - bone stock with clear coat peeling off the hood. Pretty sure 99%+ of people think that's just SAD. Guess what - I don't care. It has cost me a total of $80 / month over it's life, is as reliable as old faithful, is more fun to drive than almost anything else I have driven and is currently delivering 62 mpg.

Live life the way you want, not the way you think others want you to.
