Default 87 prelude engine

A friend of mine has an '84 CRX with a 1.5L. He wants to turbocharge it. We happen to have a 2.0L from an '86-'87 prelude sitting around. I've been told that the only difference between the two is the bore and stroke, other than that, the engines are the same. If this is true, swapping in the 2.0L should be relatively easy. He plans to rebuild, regardless of the engine used, but the larger displacement would be nice. So is there any truth to this? Can we get away with swapping engine and tranny mounts and drop it in? Will the tranny bolt up to the 2.0L block? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Personally I would steer clear of the A20 motor. I think it is dpfi and would require some serious wiring. Plus, I don't think it will drop right in. If you want a little more displacement pick up a D16A1 from your local salvage yard. That will drop straight in with a slight modification to one of the mounts.

Just my opinion!

Here is a little more info:

the a20 is a seriously weird motor. its a vacume disaster. it looks like an old 305 w/ all the vacume lines. youd have to mpfi swap, swap over ludes map sensor, trans vacume lines harnesses, figure out a shift linkage etc.

easier to do a d15b1 bottom and d16a6 head. you can easily make more power with that d15b1 and smoke the a20

The only reason for considering the a20 is that it won't cast anything to get it, the guy is giving it away. It needs to be rebuilt and is useless to him as a core. Sounds like a lot of work and time.
