Default What to do - 4 big injectors for 8 550's?

I have 4 550's right now. But most likely i will crave for more power soon...so should i go w/ 4 big injectors or go w/ 4 550's? I have hondata now but I'm switching to ems and i was told ems can support up to 8 injectors. now...wouldn't it be better to use 8 for fuel economy reason (the last 4 only sprays when needed).

what do ya think?

You'll still be using the same amount of fuel regardless if you have 4 or 8 injectors.

not at idle and light load. the 8 smaller injectors would use less.

well, on rx7's...they use two small injectors and two additional big injectors..i suppose it works that way on hondas too

I'd say if you can utilize an ems to run everything, then go with the 8

i would go with 8. i was considering the same because idling would be easier. the only thing holding me back was having the manifold modified to accept a second rail...$$$.

good idea...i spoke to the tech's at AEM about the EMS running 8 injectors and they were VERY convincing...so many ways to control injectors 5-8...it's CRAZY!

Dude, you dont need 8 injectors man. You can run (4) 1000 cc and still get some good gas mileage. It's all about the tunning!

Just run 4 of the 720cc Greddy injectors. Cheaper than RC's and will work from idle to 550 whp if tuned properly.

tuning 1000cc injectors isn't the simplest thing in the world

i'm not saying 8 injectors is the best idea...but it sure makes the car more discreet while sitting at a light

How is having 8 injectors more discreet then having 4 high flow injectors? My motor idles like a factory honda with 720cc injectors.

well he's asking about 8x550cc injectors. so i'm assuming he needs more fuel than say 4x720cc. something along the lines of 1000-1100cc

720cc is a lot of fuel already, however I guess the most important question is how much HP is corporal jeff planning to make.? If he's planning to make 400-450 whp then 4x 720cc will be fine.
