What the best USDM sized header for a B18C5?
Don't even bother.

Stay stock or go 2.5" collector.

Makes NO sense to go with a 2.25" header.

Do a search! The "best header" topic has to be the most beaten-to-death topic on H-T.

I know one guy who lost power with a 2.5 and went back to a DC pos. He has run high 12's in the 1/4 and has big cams.

What header/cams are we talking about?

Who did the tuning?

His setup isn't impressive at all, but that's beside the point.

Do you have any dynoplots to show us? Where did he lose power?

Also, who tuned it?

His 1.8 set-up was. Not bad for 2600lb car with a "DC 4-1 needle dick header"
I don't have a Dyno plot but this is what he told me. It also states this on his site.
Motor work was done by Inline Pro. He tuned it. Doesn't take much to tune a car.

Do you know where he lost power?

Also, thanks for keeping this from catching fire.

Not sure but for a Drag racer I'm sure it was the top end.

That's VERY odd.

Which header did he try?

What did he use downstream of the header when he had the JDM 4-1?

Last time I saw him it looked like the stock b-pipe with an aftermarket axle back.

What about the cat?

And he wondered why he lost power?

Put the JDM 4-1 on with a 2.5" exhaust system.

Don't know if he has a cat. I doubt it. I'm not giving him any ideas because he's my competitor

I would say the Mugen USDM(2.25) 4-1. With just that and AEM, i dynoed at 178. Ask Black R if you want to know a second opinion on that header because I sold it to him but not sure if he installed it or what.

I'm still running an OLD USDM SS/heat wrapped DC 4-1 and an SMS exhaust, not bad for a "cheap" header.
I should get some dyno numbers after I clean the AEM filter.

You should have said that in the first place!

He's going the wrong way with using his 2.25" collector header.

Also I'm fairly sure he's using that "home dyno" that he's linked to on his site. He should get on a real dyno.

Of course all of this he doesn't need to know.

But you should know to go with a 2.5" collector.

Why waste your $ on a 2.25" collector?

At a minimum, go with the jdm 4-1 or something better... you're not driving an HX for cryin out loud.....

He does go to a real dyno. He has a chart posted on the site at 185 whp with the JDM header. I know better because I DO have a 2.5 header.
