Will Si front sway fit on Ex?
I am doing a b16a transplant into my 2000ex, and wanted to upgrade the front sway to the Si 26mm while I have everything out of the way. Does anyone know if it will fit directly, or will I need to make additional replacements/modifications? I have done several searches and keep getting rather conflicting information. I am trying to get this done asap, please help me out. TIA
I agree. Leave the front alone and go with a beefier unit in the back. I went with a stock si sway bar on my 99ex. Its a little puny but 13mm is better than 0mm. But to answer you orignal question...I am pretty sure that the si front sway bar will fit right in.
I already have the comptech combo in the back. I have driven several Si's, and the front end on them seems to be a lot more stable, especially when cornering. I got a front strut bar, and that stabilized it somewhat, but I really want the Si feel to the handling which is why I am looking to do this.
What kind of rims/tires do you have? That can make a big difference in how the front handles and the overall balance of the car.
I have 15" Rota Slipstreams, with 205/15/50 Falken Azenis. I had 16" wheels before, but did not like the low profile tire feel (I commute a lot).
Well your rims/tires aren't the problem. My only other idea would be that since the si revs a little harder than an ex, you can accelerate out of a turn a little bit quicker. I too commute about 60 min each day to work and my 16" borbet type-r's and my kuhmo 712's are still holding up well. I tioo wish my car was a little more crisp up front but I perfer a little understeer as opposed oversteer on the highway.

It will fit no problem. I am not sure if the ex and si lca's are different. To be safe, I would get the bar, bushings, brackets, endlinks, forks and lca's from the si. It will go right in.
The 99 SI sway bar will not bolt to anything but SI LCAs.
The LCA's on all EK's but the SI are the same, with the exception of Hatchback lcas not having holes for swaybars.
Just leave your front alone and get an ITR rear like everyone suggested.

my bad...i didn't read all the way through...
now that I have...
if you want to put an 26MM SI sway bar on your car you are gonna need all that stuff that Jackson listed above.
