Default P30 pistons into a JDM B18C1

Stock B18C1 block, All stock GSR p72 head w/ skunk2 pro 1 cams, skunk2 valvespring/retainers, ferrea valves.

Will P30 pistons drop in fine on the OEM P72 rods.???? I know the c/r will be around 11.8 . thats what i want.

I know they drop right in in. My question is will the piston hit the valve?

No won't hit unless the block/head has been milled down alot. You should look into flat faced valves also for a .2 bump in compression.
Pretty sure you won't be at 11.8 maybe a hair under that unless again block/head been decked.

Pretty fun motor though but go with the JDM ITR pistons for a little more compression. I went with P30's and could have done bigger. Cost like 12.00 to have pistons swapped over at the machine shop but make sure to get new wrist pins and don't count on the old pistons to be much good when they are removed.

Don't know specs on the Pro 1 but they may want a little more compression to be fun. Stage 3's or crower 4's may put you in a fun zone depending on what you are doing with the car.

Should be fun street car though. Good luck on your motor.

without milling the head, and without a thin head gasket, doesnt P30 pistons give higher cr in the B18C1 than P73-00 pistons? someone clearify this for me. i am planing a rebuild and i would like to know.

Thats why I ended up going with p30's but I wanna say I found out that the jdm P73 pistons were just a touch more.

I didn't have any problems with around 11.8:1 compression though even on 90 - 91 octane gas.

Thats where I got mine from. They come with new pins and you should get the rings for 100.00 more while your at it.

how so? the P30's have a higher dome, giving it a tad more compression. even on the compression calculator it says the P30's give more compression. how did you find out that the P73-00 gave more compression?

Somehow when doing some research like 2 years ago I read that on here somewhere. But I did have alot more results with p30's being the highest right under pct's. Thats why I went p30's.

Anyhow I am on to bigger better things with an H2B.

Lol, VAFC and 12:1 Compression.

Crome will work. Netpune or Hondata will be even better.

I run crome pro and it does fine. The injector pulse ratings are off though but that is something I can deal with.
