Do chicks really dig guys on sportbikes?
Honestly... I think this is the whole reason behind me wanting to drop a couple grand on some gear and a bike. I know I should only want it for the thrill of riding and great gas mileage. But the little 16 year old kid in me is only wanting it for the chicks.

I gotta agree. Being 16, its natural for a guy like me to want something just to show it off... So I'm deciding to not get one. Cause I'm probably gonna either get hurt, die, or embarrass myself sooner or later with a bike.
I think I just feel like a loser and have low self esteem, and buying a bike to ride to my high school would make me feel like I'm into something and give me that "image" to up my confidence and make me feel better about myself. I'm not gonna lie to you guys... But honestly, I think it will up my confidence. But to me, its not worth the money, and the risks.

thats a good mentality to have
if anything, wait til you are significantly older and have self control
my current self would hate my past self because of my lack of self control
maturity is HUGE on a bike, besides you have plenty of time to get a bike later on down the road

Yeah for sure, I think I'm just gonna spend the $150 and just take the course, even though I know I'm not gonna get a bike anytime soon. I just wanna get this off my chest, see if I like it or not.

Scoring chicks isnt in what you drive or own, its attitude and knowing to talk, a bike will only get them to come to you, after that you are on your own once again.
Stay safe dude, dont get the bike, pssy isnt worth dying imho

The earlier you take the course and get your license (I'm assuming you want your license), the cheaper it will be later when you get insurance. Insurance companies only care about how long you've had your license.

For being insightful enough to see that there is a problem.
Unfortunately, self esteem issues can not be resolved by material items. No matter how 'cool' of a bike, car, phone, gun, etc... that you buy, it can do nothing for you mentally. Sure, you may feel better that you have a bike, but eventually that new-ness will wear off and you will still have the same issues as before (and be $5k in the hole). Better yourself, and prepare yourslf for riding. If you want to ride, then ride only for yourself. Start off on a crappy, smaller displacement bike that is going to allow you to learn despite a few mistakes, rather than on a shiney new(er) super-sport that can not only get you into trouble quickly, but be very unforgiving of the mistakes you do make/encounter.
I got my 1st bike when I was 16; it was a 1978 Kawasaki, bright yellow in the places that still had paint and with surface rust on all of the chrome from years of sitting in my uncle's backyard. Was it pretty? Not one bit. Was it fast? It was a KZ750, so yes it was marginally quick, but didn't run 100% and was very forgiving of rider error. Did it get me laid? Nope. I rode it because I wanted to ride. I had been on dirtbikes since age 7, and had ridden the Kawi at my uncle's ranch since I was 14. I got made fun of for 'the banana' as people referred to it, and spent a fair amount of time playing with the bike to keep it running... but it was mine and I loved every second of it. After a couple of years with it I graduated to my 1st sporty bike... an equally crap-tastic 1991 EX500. I rode the **** out of my EX500 and realized that I enjoyed sport riding, and was ready to move on to a larger, nicer bike.

I SURE HOPE SO!!
In all serious though, it is easy for the female affection to overwhelm your better judgment at times and on the motorcycles is the last place you want to be using poor judgment. Take MSF, its worth its weight in gold. Or youtube up motorcycle crash. It can happen to you if you are reckless.

This is correct. The louder and flashier, the better.

I don't know... my Fatboy is way louder than my 600rr, but I have yet to have a woman under 50 come up to the Harley and give me props.

Regardless if they are as old as petrified wood and farts dust, it was a female. Some guys are into that kinda of kinky stuff. Like old wrinkled skin that smells like Wal-mart soap. I'm sure the OP isn't looking for a 50 year old cougar, but if he likes that kind of stuff, have at it. Old people need loving too you know.

i didn't get my bike to get girls, but it is kinda cool because if your a boring loser like me it gives you something to do with girls. and when they say stuff like "im really impressed you can drive a motorcycle" or "i love to go fast" it makes paying for insurance out the *** all worth it
