Default CRX: '90 -> '88 Door Swap

'88 CRX. Dude's wife backed into my car while I was working on his VR-4. I'm not too concerned, its my beater, but I would like to get it fixed. There's a couple '90-'91 doors for sale locally real cheap.

Difference-wise, from what I understand; door-mounted seat belts, the side molding is somewhat different, as is the vertical plastic next to the glass. That's all fine with me. My questions are:

-Will the door itself bolt up to my chassis or are the mounts different?
-Will the '88's door panel bolt up to the '91's door?
-Can I swap the molding as well so that it is all uniform?
-What about wiring harness, does it still connect the same or will I have to swap over my '88's?

All of your door panels are interchangable.

Be careful not to give false information, the 88 door panels will not fit a 90 up door, without some cutting and removing the door seat belts of course. I did this before, and wish I didn't when I swapped in 88 doors.

I don't know why anyone would want to put 90 door panels on an 88 door, but it would have a hole at the top close to the top where the glass meets. The 90 up USDM door glass is shorter. Look at the difference between the door pillar on the 88 thinner, vs the 90 which is thicker.

-Will the door itself bolt up to my chassis or are the mounts different?
Yes but u will have to cut out a little section of the 90 door. Its about 4"-5" tall and 2"-3" wide. It is right above where the door locks to the car chassis.
-Will the '88's door panel bolt up to the '91's door?
No
-Can I swap the molding as well so that it is all uniform?
Yes
-What about wiring harness, does it still connect the same or will I have to swap over my '88's?
Yes u will have to swap out the harness because the 90 door will have bigger connector because it includes some wires from the seatbelt mechanism. The 88 door harness only includes speaker wire.

You will also need the 90 seatbelt buckles because the 90 seatbelt will not fit into an 88-89 buckle.
I did this swap a while back so let me know if you need anymore information.
