Default My Daily Beater

A few weeks ago I picked this up from a buddy all stock except for the stupid muffler. It's a '91 SE-R with a very low mileage USDM SR20DE in it. Makes for a good daily driver...it's actually really tempting to turbo this motor, but I don't need another fast car.

Anyway, I did some basic paint work on it, maintenance stuff, short shifter, yadda yadda yadda...nothing exciting. Anyway, I got my Ground Controls on this morning, so I took the scenic route home and snapped some pics. First I stopped on the side of the road for a break.

Then I found this sweet freshly paved road that goes up and around a hill where they're building some houses. It has so many s-curves, hairpins, and hills, and it's all super smooth. I took my longboard down it as well as the car.

? ? Lemme know whatcha think.

Cool car! One of these would make a cool daily, do they handle pretty well?

Nah, I work elsewhere in Seattle. Maybe a similar one? Because I just got it looking like this today.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Scotty Dosent Know &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Cool car! One of these would make a cool daily, do they handle pretty well? </TD></TR></TABLE>

They handle decently well in stock condition. But they have MacPherson struts with little travel in all four corners. So once you lower them (and they need it BAD from the factory ), you should really go with shortened struts or a full coilover to make the car handle well. I'm running on stock struts for the time being and it handles alright, but it's nothing great.

Negative. It's paint, because the car had extreme oxidation on the trunk lid and hood, and I had extra black paint at home.

I drove a 4-door sentra of the same generation as yours in the philippines last year. It was a great car that could most certainly take a beating. Yours looks clean, except I cant say that the wheels look good on the car.

I like the wheels on the car, though I do plan to throw them on my Sol once I get it fixed. And when that happens, I'll most likely throw my 15x7 Work Ewing RSZ Negatives on the SE-R.

It is indeed on the eastern side. It's the highway between Cle Elum and Ellensburg. I much prefer taking backroads home from Yakima to Seattle when I can.

Would be nice if I can find a cheap set. But before I spend any more money on cosmetic stuff, I'm going to do some performance mods.

Sunny are basically '93-'94 lights, right? The appeal of the Tsurus is the clear lense (no fluting), so I can retrofit some Infiniti HID projectors in there.

And yeah, I am on sr20forum and sr20-forum. Lemme know what you have...I may be interested.

Mine's a '91. I don't really plan on doing any headlight upgrades though, unless a great deal on Tsurus comes along.
