are all ef's steering racks interchangable?
hey my steering rack is bad on my 89 crx si, i think the bushing that's inside the steering rack on the passenger side is [freak]ed i have alot of up and down play with the tie rod, everytime i hit a nice size bump it causes a super loud clunk, sounds like like the whole front end just goona break or something it's pretty bad and i can't take it anymore. i was wonder if i got to a junk yard and can't find a crx to pull one out of can i get one from a ef hatch or even a sedan. it's hard to find crx in the junkyards around my area but i see hatches and sedans all day if someone could help me out that would be great also is the anyway to just replace that bushing that's in my steering rack now. it almost looks like a plastic bushing i know it's white because i can see it if i look into the rack any help would be greatly appreciated
Yes you can replace that bushing alone. Easiest to pull the rack out completely to get to it. How old (mileage) is your current rack? I'd double check all your ball joints and tie rod ends (inner and outter) and knock it all out at one time.
