Default 2 New Updates on the Coupe (Painted Front Lip and CBR Mirrors)

Finally got the chance to Paint my Front Lip and do my Mirrors.

Selling my CF Mirrors for $50 + Buying JDM EK9 Mirror Block Off Plates for $50 + Buddy buying CF Mirrors for His CBR 600 and giving me His old Mirrors = Free CBR Mirrors on my Car

Paint was done by myself with a Can of Color Matched Spray Paint and some Clear Coat. Didn't come out too bad for only spending $30 on everything.

Onto the pics.

Thanks for looking.

Ant

I did clear the Mirrors and the Lip. It doesn't look like it in the pics nor in Person. I really don't care. The Lip scrapes everywhere so the Paint won't last forever, and I plan on having it professionally painted in the future. This was just temporary.

Thanks EJ8CIVIC I try to do different **** to my Car to try to make it unique.

LOL & HondamanXxX. My Tow Hook was Sold. Haven't got around to picking up another one. Plan on going with a Tow Strap.

Thanks Hando. And yes, I picked up the EBP Paint in an Aerosol Can. A Paint Shop up the Street from me mixes the Paint for $25. I've done a lot of Lips with it. I'm happy with the outcome.

I used a similar product. Its PPG Paint mixed in an Aerosol Can. Like I said, its a little off, but I'm not complaining. I think it looks dope.

The product you mentioned is cheaper. I may have to try it when I pick up my Wing.

well it might take two cans of clear to show up on that lip and mirrors. you have to use a lot of clear. it has to get down in the little dips of paint then overlap itsself and build up. take a whole can of clear to that lip. spray a light coat...let it dry .....spray a medium coat...let it dry..then do 2 heavy coats. let it dry for a week. wetsand it 2000 grit....and then compound it to remove scratches made from sanding. will look good.

the idea was good but your excecution fell short you should have picked better looking mirrors and next time dont paint the base plate it looks better in black.

Thanks for the advice Donnie. I'll admit it, I rushed the process and there is only 2 coats of clear. Maybe when I get a chance I'll attempt your process and see how it looks.

gabef-8, I like the Mirrors, and I've seen this done on a handful of other Civics. Never seen it done using different Mirrors though. I got them for Free, they are an OEM Honda Part, it satisfies my needs. I didn't want to keep the Block Off's Black. I like it Painted. I tried it first with the Block Off's unpainted and I didn't like the look,

I like the lip and congrats on doing the paint on your own... Im not a fan of the mirrors... There is just something that looks a little off to me about them. They look like motorcycle mirrors instead of aftermarket or racing mirrors. (I know they are motorcycle mirrors because I read your thread.) The main thing that matters is if you like the way it looks. If you do then more power to you. Way to do the **** on your own... Congrats!

not really feeling the mirrors. Then again I dont like the racing mirrors alot of guys are going with either. I the CBR mirrors though stick out too much. To pull off the look the mirrors need to be kept tight to the body.

DMENTED_EJ8, the Rims are Nippon Racing TE-37 Replicas.

Thanks JRSC EM1. I try to do as much work as I can on my own. I'm also don't have much money anymore to throw into the Car so I have a budget to keep in my mind.

And again SIRIUS, if you saw the Mirrors in person you wouldn't think they stick out to much. If they stuck out to much then the visibility would suck. Right where they are, I can see perfectly. No moving them around or adjusting them. When you put a set of stock Mirrors right beside them, the CBR Mirrors literally stick out less then an inch from the OEM Mirrors. Thats not much of a difference.

I'm not saying they stick out more or even less than the stockers. I'm saying they stick out too much for the "racing" look you are after. On a bike they look cool b/c they are raked back. On a car though they look kinda goofy IMO b/c they project straight out.

I don't recall stating anywhere I was in the pursuit of a "racing look" Can you point me to where I stated that? And also, in the pictures, you can clearly see that they don't just stick straight out, they slant towards the back. You can see that by how the bases of the Mirrors are positioned on the block off's.

But anyways, thanks for the input.
