Default 1979 honda accord issue

Well I got a 1979 honda accord and started to have this problem with it the other day. I drove it to work and go there fine, but when i started making my way home after about 15 mins the car shut off like it was not getting any fuel. I pulled the lines off the carb and that was the issue. My question is would that be a fuel pump problem? Would it over heat and stop working? Or is it that the fuel lines get hot and prevent from fuel getting to the carb? After the car sits for a while it starts up and runs fine but again after a few mins of driving it starts hick up and finally turns off and am not able to turn it back on

Sounds like either your fuel pump relay is going ****, or the pump itself. I'd replace the pump first, since it's super easy to do and see if the problem goes away. Could be it's working too hard due to a clogged fuel filter of some sort. Also sometimes you get sediment that falls to the bottom of the filter and when you start it flowing again it gets to the filter exit and clogs. Fuel pump is behind the left side rear tire. Super easy to get to. I believe there's a filter back there too.
