why not just buy a scooter?

There are height increasing boots too. But if you really can't get both feed down on a Ninja 250, seriously consider other options as your first bike. Like a small cruiser or something to get your confidence up.
I'm in the same situation, I'm not able to flat foot on the bike I wanted (05 zx6r) so I'm thinking about lowering it.
I'm not a track/canyon ***** or anything, So I'm willing to sacrifice a bit.

not much, that seat is already very thin.
You're all torso I guess? I'm 5'8"/5'9" and didn't have trouble on the 636. What tires are on it, and is the preload set for your weight? Are you a little on the rotund/fat side?

No clue on the tires.
I guess you can say I'm a bit on the chunky side? (160lbs)
Also, the bike belongs to some guy I knew. I just sat on it.

For the record, I'm NOT chunky! haha, and am at 170 (gym has been good to me!) and my preload with the OEM spring didn't cause the bike to sit all that high. Then again, I don't know where it sat from the factory.

I gotta hit up the gym.
