I'm going to assume that you have also gone with a thicker SWAY bar in the rear because that will reduce the amount of body roll and reduce tire roll over. Regardless, it sounds like driving style (I should know), if you find yourself pushing in turns that is going to cause lots of rollover especially on street tires. Get someone who has been autocrossing for a while to watch your runs to tell if this is the case.

When I first started autocrossing I locked up the wheels once then turned the wheel to full lock trying to turn the car. Now I know better.

Strut and tie bars won't do anything to prevent getting on the bump stops or rolling the sidewall under, and might even make it worse by removing the natural flex of the unibody. Since you've already modded the car out of Stock class with the tie bars, you might as well get a heavier rear sway bar, and probably some better shocks and stiffer springs...or coilovers.

As noted, driving style also has alot to do with rolling the sidewalls. If you go into turns too fast and scrub off speed, you tend to roll the tires.

Next autox, latch on to one of the better drivers who runs your type of car and ask for advice. That's the best way to learn.

rushing into corner may give the illusion of going faster, but you're actually scrubbing off an inordinate amount of speed.

the point is that you go in as fast as you can without "scrubbing" speed. it may not be as slow as you think, or would go. slow in, fast out is for the back of the pack for the front runners to make an easy pass.

I think you just identified part of the problem.

Having now autoxed a bone stock GS-R, even if you're on the stock craptastic tires... if you need 50psi to keep them from rolling, you're throwing the car too darn much. We've run a little less pressure than that and not buried them. Be gentle with the wheel, you'll learn where you can "chuck" the wheel to make the car do what you want, but what you're describing right now sounds like a classic case of overdriving.

Chris, who has been working on a stock GS-R with 400f/500r springs that now COULD allow the car to bury the soft stock tire sidewalls at will... but drives in a manner so as to prevent this.

an even more likely scenario, coupled with the overdriving, is that the car is lowered too much. raise it up so you'll at least have some suspension travel.
