Gatorade, snickers, water, granola bars, ham sandwiches. If I'm there all weekend, then add hamburgers, sausage, chips, etc (easy grill food).
at a autoX a while back, a guy brought a huge insulated jug filled to the top with ice, then water, and then a couple tablespoons of that concentrated lemon juice that comes in plastic lemons. It was absolutely heavenly on a hot day, and the stuff stayed cold all day with all the ice.
I try to bring some Peanutbutter snack crackers, goldfish, maybe cereal that's like trail mix (basic 4 is yummy) etc. powerbars are good but expensive.

There is a mobile chef at all our events that serves up a wicked breakfast sandwich... http://66.78.26.25/~solo2/gallery/vi...b040702&id=acg
I try to avoid that until after I'm done racing though, so in the morning its lots of water, gatorade, and Balance Bars or Power Bars. The best post race beverage after I arrive home is of course
Edit: try not to eat too much carbs during the day, it'll make you sleepy, atleast it does me. Thats why I like the Balance Bars, they have alot of protien, whereas a Powerbar is almost all carbs.

I usually try to grab a sandwhich at the deli if I have time.
I actually order power bars by the case load. I do alot of endurance sports so I live off those dam things.
Forgot to add WildBerry, and Cookies N Cream or the best

Camp on the site with some buddies. Drink plenty of
the night before the race, stop around 4am, get up at 6am and drink 6 or 7 coffees. Help setup the course anf have another 6 or 7 coffees and half-dozen donuts, walk the track a half dozen times, drink a gallon of water and you'll be ready for your first run at around 10:30am.
You can throw in a couple pit-stops to the can in there

bring a jug of water and wear a hat and stay out of the sun. geez, its only a fricking autox, its like a picnic compared to being stuck in a car in 108 degree weather in a full fireproof suit, underwear, gloves and boots, and helmet for 30 minutes.
the only thing that sucks about powerbars (at least in my experience)
is that they increase the stiffness of your stools..
but I have noticed that Coors light counter acts this sideeffect

Speaking of that, did anybody else see Alister McRae have to stop in the middle of a WRC stage to pee by the side of the road? His co-driver just shook his head and sat patiently...

lots of water all day long, but for lunch..... one dozen Krispy Kremes will do nicely thanks!
or maybe a salad if the donuts catch up with my waistline.
mainly its too hot or just too much sun exposure for me to eat a big meal...

If you are serious about it, don't drink Gatorade or other sports drinks at 100% strength. The high concentration of salts and sugars dumped into your gut actually pulls water OUT of your system through osmosis. Dilute it 50/50 with plain water. It isn't as yummy but it is better for your tummy.
Personally, I can't hardly even spectate a racing event without an Egg McMuffin or two in my colon, let alone drive.
