Default Going from no power steering back to power steering

Question...

My dd had the padawan ps removal kit on it when I bought it about a year ago. I recently decided to put the ps back on replacing everything back to stock. The pump whined and I had sporadic ps, usually in the middle of a corner.

I took that pump off and put the one I know works from my race car on, now there is no whine but I still have no ps. Am I missing something? I have the shop manual but nothing seems out of place unless im missing something from the padawan kit I didn't notice.

Thanks for the help

Does it feel like the pump just isn't running? (I.E. feel like the car does with the motor/PS belt off?)

Is there enough fluid in the system?

Two thoughts:
1. Maybe the rack needs to be bled? If that's at all a concern, I think just sitting still with the car on and turning the wheel back and forth a few times would do it. Recheck fluid level when you're done, and if it's lower you had air in the system.
2. Any chance the lines are backwards/crossed at either the pump or the rack? I kind of remember the fittings on the rack being different sizes, but I'm not 100% sure.

Tried the lock to lock method and got no results.

The lines are indeed different sizes at the rack as well, the bottom is a hard line and the top gets a hose.

Its gotta be something simple im missing as I know the pump works perfectly
